Hi! I’m Tess…
I have been running my art design business as a full-time career since 2011. What started as a way to pass the time while my husband was watching sports has turned into a full-time creative career and I could not be more thrilled!
I have had the true pleasure of operating two successful Etsy shops for the past 16 years - Tessyla and JEWELbyTessyla. I also have a Spoonflower shop, where I sell my designs on fabric, wallpaper, home decor and more! You can check each of them out via the links in my home page.
For an in-depth behind the scenes look at my journey from waitress to full-time working artist, I highly recommend listening to my interview on the Etsy Conversations Podcast - episode 339. It’s a story you won’t want to miss and I promise you’ll have a chuckle too!
My work has been featured in some AMAZING places, including Brides Magazine, Southern Living Magazine, Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine, Houzz, Apartment Therapy, Disney Baby, Parents, Huff Post, The Bump, Project Nursery, and as set design on the hit Netflix series - Dear White People.
I am originally from NYC and spent most of my life in Marco Island, Florida. I have a degree in fashion design with specialization in textile design and graphic design. I currently reside in North Carolina with my husband, Jon, and our sweet son, Zavian.
LIKES: sunshine, walks, a good crime podcast, chai.
DISLIKES: being cold, beer, heights - eek!
MY HAPPY PLACE: by the pool with a magazine.
FORMERLY KNOWN AS: a hotel security guard!
